  2.     This theory is a controversial 
  3. one and may seem farfetched, 
  4. but it has great predictive 
  5. power. For example, the 
  6. interposition cue can be 
  7. interpreted along these lines: 
  8. seeing ΓÇ£two rectanglesΓÇ¥ is 
  9. simpler than seeing a rectangle 
  10. nestled against an L-shaped 
  11. figure because a rectangle is 
  12. more regular than an L-shape 
  13. and because both figures are 
  14. then alike. In the cue of size 
  15. perspective, the outcome is 
  16. that the objects all become 
  17. equal in size rather than 
  18. different. In the case of the 
  19. kinetic depth effect, one might 
  20. say that a rigid object rotating 
  21. in depth is a simpler outcome 
  22. than an object transforming in 
  23. length and orientation within 
  24. a plane.
